The Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteering not only gives back to the genealogy community, it allows you to gain experience. There are many opportunities in your local area to give a supporting hand, while you, too, further your research skills.
Of course not all public libraries offer the genealogists what the Midwest Genealogy Center, in Independence MO (outside Kansas City), offers.
