Are These 3 Photos of the Same Man?

Need Help with Identifying These Photos!
Polling the genealogy community.

We know they all have the name William Williams. But are they the same William Williams?
Photo #1

Photo #2

Photo #3

On 9 January 2010, I asked readers to identify man in photo #1. "Is this William Williams on your family tree?" I asked in the blog post The Man in the Photo.

But more information has come in, and we now have three photos to compare. We need the genealogy community to help us with this determination.   We are also wanting help with placing an age on the fellows! Please leave any comments.

  1. #1 could be an older version of #2 and #3. The ears on #2 and #3 stick out more on top then #1. The mouth also is crooked in the same way on 2 & 3.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were all the same but I'm pretty sure 2 and 3 are the same. I also filled out the survey. Good Luck!

  2. 2 and 3 maybe the same but 1 is different and photo needs fixing.

  3. I would also say that #2 and #3 are the same man. In those two photos he has a tilt to his head and the ears are the same.

The man in #1 his nose is rounded at the tip where the other two photos the nose is straight and thinner.

  4. I just voted in your poll! The man in 2 & 3 are the same, but no so much in 1.

  5. I voted all 3 are the same man. I think #2 & #3 are definitely the same man and I think #1 is almost certainly him as well. The way #1's head is tilted makes it a little harder to compare ears but his right ear looks the same in all three. The nose, jawline and chin appear to be the same - with #1 just being a little heavier as he aged. The insignia on the hat also appears to be the same.

  6. I would say #2 and #3 could be the same man but #1 is not the same as either of the other two.

  7. I completely agree with all Linda said, all three appear to be the same man with #1 being older and a little heavier.

  8. My initial reaction was that they were of three different men but as I looked closer, I thought 2 & 3 were of the same man but that 1 was of a different man.
